Emo Style Basics To Get You Started

Everyone knows that emo only means one thing, emotional. Emo culture has its own music, look, and clothing styles. The music is a mix of punk and hard rock. The style of clothing and the personality of the emo is that of someone wanting a lot of attention. To truly have total emo style there are some fashion elements that are necessary. Jackets, hair, shirts, shoes, pants, and accessories must be combined in such a way as to reflect their true feelings.
Hoodies are the popular style of jacket for the emo. The darker colors are better. Retro style jackets will also work with emo style. Loose fitting jeans are out and tight jeans are in. if the jeans are a little long this is OK but cuffs of any kind are a definite no-no. Tight shirts work best. Bright colors are better than dark ones. Graphic tees are a good choice as long as they reflect your current mood. Band tees are also great. Skull designs are pretty popular also. It is common to see long sleeve shirts under the short tees for a layered look.

Emo hairstyles are pretty easy to achieve and can be done at home. It might be that you choose a shaggy messed up hairstyle. Medium length hair works best in emo. The majority of emo guys and gals have black hair they goes to one side covering the eye. Retro style shoes are great but need to be simple in design. Canvas sneakers with wide colorful laces are in. there are a few brand name shoes that are more popular than others. Scarves and wrist bands are a popular fashion accessory with the emo crowds. Scarves are great with multiple colors if they are simple designs. They need to be very long to work with this style. You don’t have to wait for cold weather either as scarves can be worn anytime the mood strikes.
